The menagerie of characters unmasks the folly humans encounter when they act as if life were simple and appearances were not deceiving. In vignettes ranging from comic to poignant to bizarre, the show includes expressive silent masks brought to life with outrageous physicality; comic characters who speak from behind half-masks; and baffling illusions created by masks worn other parts of the body. There is quick-change artistry, an occasional “celebrity” appearance, and physical distortions that baffle the eyes and dance to the edge of reality and back. Workshop: Behind the Mask
The workshop includes movement exercises and games designed to increase awareness of the body language, vocal intonations, and facial expressions that we use and see daily in our business and personal lives. The experience will provide participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the power of transformation through masks.
