The Mask Messenger is stand-up physical theatre and comedy presented in a series of vignettes about masks. The show brims with wisdom and insight, even though many audience members might be laughing too hard to notice.
The menagerie of characters unmasks the folly humans encounter when they act as if life were simple and appearances were not deceiving. In vignettes ranging from comic to poignant to bizarre, the show includes expressive silent masks brought to life with outrageous physicality; comic characters who speak from behind half-masks; and baffling illusions created by masks worn other parts of the body.
There is quick-change artistry, an occasional “celebrity” appearance, and physical distortions that baffle the eyes and dance to the edge of reality and back.
"Tickles some sort of primal funny bone...hilariously hyperbolic."
"Inventive, magical, never less than completely absorbing.”
"Stunning, indefinable...somewhere between the sculptural fantasies of Mummenschanz and the precision mime of Marcel Marceau."
Rob Faust can work with your meeting planners to create theme-specific material to suit your occasion: in a hotel ballroom, on a lawn, under a tent, in a meeting room, on a stage, or by the pool.
Spice up your event with masked characters—including perhaps members of your organization—who mingle with the crowd at receptions, parties, events, or in the lobby.
Workshop: Behind the Mask
Go behind the mask with Rob Faust to improve self-awareness, other-awareness, and self-expression. These sessions allow members of your team to go the behind the mask in fun non-threatening situations.
The workshop includes movement exercises and games designed to increase awareness of the body language, vocal intonations, and facial expressions that we use and see daily in our business and personal lives.
The experience will provide participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the power of transformation through masks.
